Privacy Policy

Phone: 514 648 4848

Last updated: July 29, 2026

This policy is written to be read. Where a section has legal weight we have said what we actually do rather than what we are permitted to do.

  1. 1.Scope

This policy explains what personal information GT Group Inc. collects through www.gtgroupinc.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us by telephone, by e-mail, at one of our yards, or through a commercial contract.

GT Group Inc. is the organisation responsible for the personal information described here. Our head office is at 10000 Maurice Duplessis, Gate 3, Montreal, Quebec H1C 2A2, Canada.

  2. 2.Person In Charge Of The Protection Of Personal Information

Quebec’s Law 25 requires every enterprise to designate a person responsible for the protection of personal information, and to publish that person’s title and contact details. Ours are:

Responsable de la protection des renseignements personnels / Privacy Officer, GT Group Inc., 10000 Maurice Duplessis, Gate 3, Montreal, Quebec H1C 2A2. E-mail info@gtgroupinc.com, telephone 514 648 4848.

Write to this address for any question about this policy, to exercise the rights described below, or to make a complaint. If we cannot resolve it, you may take the matter to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

  3. 3.Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information, and only these two.

    • Information you type in. The contact and quote forms ask for your name, company, e-mail address, telephone number and the details of what you need. The booking and container lookups take the reference numbers you enter. You choose whether to provide any of it, though a form cannot be submitted without the fields marked required.
    • Information your browser reports. When tracking is enabled, Google Analytics records the pages you view, the approximate region you are in, the site or search that referred you, and general details of your device and browser. It does not receive your name or e-mail address, and we have not enabled any Google feature that joins this data to your identity.
  4. 4.Tracking Technologies We Use

The table below names every analytics and advertising technology on this site, what it does, and the cookies it sets. None of them load until you accept them — see Cookies and Consent below.

    TechnologyWhat it doesCookies set
    Google Analytics 4 (G-E292MJRE1B)
    Google LLC

    Google Tag Manager (GTM-PBKT3WKT)
    Google LLC

    Google Ads remarketing (AW-917965272)
    Google LLC

  5. 5.Content Loaded From Other Companies

Some pages include content hosted elsewhere. When a page loads that content, your browser contacts that company directly, and it will see your IP address. These are functional parts of the site rather than tracking, so they are not covered by the consent banner.

    • ADP Workforce Now (/careers/) — Our job listings and applications are hosted by ADP and shown in a frame. Anything you submit goes to ADP, under their privacy policy.
    • YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) (Home page video) — Embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set advertising cookies unless you play the video.
    • Matterport (/projet-castelnau/) — Hosts the 3D walkthrough of the Castelnau project.
    • GT Group depot API (/booking-inquiry/, /container-inquiry/) — Booking and container numbers you enter are sent to our own systems to look up their status. They are not shared with advertisers.
  6. 6.How We Use Information

    • To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, and carry out the work if you engage us.
    • To look up the booking or container you asked about.
    • To understand which parts of the site are used, so we can improve them.
    • To measure our advertising and show it to people who have visited us before.
    • To keep the site secure and to comply with our legal obligations.
  7. 8.Who We Share It With

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not disclose the contents of your enquiries to anyone outside GT Group except where we need a supplier to help us carry out the work you asked for.

The companies named in the two tables above receive data as described there. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute.

  8. 9.Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information

Google Ads remarketing shares online identifiers with Google so that our advertising can reach people who have visited this site. Under California’s CCPA/CPRA and several other US state laws, that counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you may opt out of it.

You can opt out using the control below, or by choosing "Reject non-essential" on the consent banner. Either takes effect immediately and applies to every page of this site. Because the setting is stored in your browser, it does not travel between devices, and clearing your browser storage resets it.

    Your current setting

    Checking…

    Global Privacy Control

This site recognises the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or an extension sends it, we treat it as a standing opt-out: no analytics or advertising tag loads at all, and the consent banner does not appear. A GPC signal overrides a previous choice to allow tracking.

  9. 10.Cookies And Consent

Nothing non-essential is set before you decide. Until you accept, no Google script is loaded at all, so no analytics or advertising cookie exists — we hold the scripts back rather than merely asking them to behave.

If you decline, or opt out after previously accepting, we also delete any analytics or advertising cookie already stored on your device.

You can change your decision at any time using the control in the "Do Not Sell Or Share My Personal Information" section above, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Because the decision is stored in your browser, it applies to that browser on that device only.

  10. 11.Your Rights

The rights below are those Law 25 gives you, which in most respects are the broader set. You may ask us to:

    • Access the personal information we hold about you, and be told how we use it, where we got it, and who we share it with.
    • Correct it, if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous, or if collecting it was not authorised.
    • Delete it, where we have no continuing legal or contractual reason to keep it.
    • Give you a copy in a structured, commonly used technological format, or send it directly to someone else you name — the data portability right that came into force in Quebec in September 2024.
    • Stop disseminating it, or de-index any link that gives access to it, where the dissemination breaches the law or a court order, or where it causes you serious injury to reputation or privacy that outweighs the public interest in knowing it.
    • Stop using it for a particular purpose, including withdrawing your consent to analytics and advertising, which is as easy to do as giving it was.
    • Stop the sale or sharing of it for advertising, as described above.
    • Be told the reasons and the main factors behind any decision made about you exclusively by automated processing, and to have that decision reviewed by a person. We do not currently make any such decision through this website.
    • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, change our prices, or give you a lower standard of service because you asked.
  11. 12.How To Make A Request

Write to our Privacy Officer at info@gtgroupinc.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line, and tell us what you would like us to do. You may also write to the head office address above, or telephone 514 648 4848.

Law 25 gives us 30 days to answer, and we will. We will confirm we have your request well inside that. If we refuse a request, in whole or in part, we will tell you which provision we rely on, explain why, and tell you how to ask the Commission d’accès à l’information to review it. If we do not answer within 30 days, that counts as a refusal you can take to the Commission.

To protect you, we need to be reasonably sure the request is really yours before we act on it. We will normally do that by writing back to the e-mail address or telephone number already in our records, or by asking about details of a transaction you have had with us. We will not ask you to send identity documents unless the request concerns information sensitive enough to warrant it. An authorised agent acting for you should provide written proof of that authority.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, which is our regulator, or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own regulator if you are outside Canada.

  12. 13.How Long We Keep It

Enquiries and quote requests are kept for as long as we need them for the commercial relationship, and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and limitation rules require. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months from your last visit, which is the shortest retention their product allows for the reports we use.

  13. 14.Children And Minors

This is a business-to-business website for container terminal, transport, sales and warehousing services. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14 — the age of consent for personal information under Quebec’s Law 25 — or under 13 for visitors in the United States, or under 16 where that higher threshold applies.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal information through this site, write to info@gtgroupinc.com and we will delete it promptly. We do not require age verification, so we rely on being told.

  14. 15.Information Held Outside Quebec

This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Google, which provides our analytics and advertising tags, and ADP, which hosts our job applications, both process data in the United States and elsewhere.

Law 25 requires us to assess, before personal information leaves Quebec, whether it will receive protection equivalent to what Quebec law provides, taking into account the sensitivity of the information, the purpose, the protections it would carry, and the legal regime of the destination. Personal information held outside Quebec can be subject to the laws of the country it is in, including lawful access by authorities there. We rely on our suppliers’ contractual commitments, including the standard contractual clauses where those apply.

  15. 16.Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Form submissions and depot lookups are encrypted in transit. Access to enquiries is limited to the GT Group staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we do not promise that it is.

Law 25 calls a breach a confidentiality incident. If one occurs and presents a risk of serious injury, we must notify both you and the Commission d’accès à l’information promptly, take reasonable steps to reduce the risk, and record it in a register of incidents that we keep and can produce on request.

  16. 17.Changes To This Policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. We review it at least once a year even when nothing has changed. Material changes affecting how we use information we already hold will be brought to your attention rather than left here to be found.
